History of Neylebears
Hello! My name is Berneyle Pittman and I am owner and artist of NEYLEBEARS Fur Teddy Bears. I make and sell real fur animals from recycled fur garments purchased in second hand shops and on line. I began making fur teddy bears about 8 years ago when I decided to make each step child and grand child a fur bear for Christmas. I initially obtained my fur sewing skills in Alaska where I was raised. In the proces of creating these bears, I fell in love with making them and began slowly to create new ones. I have attended many doll and Teddy Bear shows and met several teddy bear artists. These lovely individuals encouraged me to continue and to eventually show and sell mine. Every bear and animal is made by hand as are most of their decorations. Other artists pieces included with my animals are clearly referenced in each animal's label and paperwork. It takes 3 or 4 weeks to complete a bear beginning with an intact fur coat to finished bear. This is a time consuming labor of love I wish to share with everyone in the cyber world.
Currently I designed my own patterns and am attempting to write a small book/manuaI with my patterns and instructions on how to make my fur bears or any other fur animal you wish to make. This manual will eventually be available by printed book or on line.
I currently sell my bears at shows but will occasionally sell one outside of the show enviorns. Included in this small web site are photos of many I have made and sold or will be selling soon. The time involved making each bear needed for my show limits my selling them on line. But I will occasionally sell one on line if someone really wants it. They are expensive - running from $250.00 to $400.00 depending on the size and intricasy involved in their construction. Time requirements in making teeth and placing claws will raise their price. Please enjoy looking at my "Babies". I look forward to you contacting me at neylebears.gmail.com with comments or questions.

Today I added more photos from my past critters. I hope you will see the improvement in my expertise and style. It is important for all to know that NO animals were killed to create my animals, except those sacrificied years ago to make fur coats sold at major fur shops when wearing fur was in style and acceptable. My animals have some or all of wire, crystal, steel shot, glass beads, nuts and bolts, artificial leather thread, clay or claw material in them. They have many small parts that are breakable and can pose a potential danger to children. Therefore, let me emphazise that these are meant to be ADULT collector items - NOT TOYS. If aware, I will not sell any of my animals purchased for a child. I hope you understand.
